Senior Quotations RepresentaTive

 A Senior Quotations Representative is responsible for quoting itemized bill of materials, of both specified projects and crossover projects for lighting distributors and contractors.  Successful candidates will be working closely with our Sales and Specification Team.  An emphasis should be placed on establishing relationships with our manufacturers and customers. This a full time position in our Central NJ office from 8 am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This individual should ensure that the Lighting and Lighting Control Systems comply with the specifications of the project.

  • Demonstrate excellent math skills and analytical thinking.

  • All project quotations to be finalized at least 24 hours prior to bidding

  • Possess the ability to multi-task and maintain a very heavy schedule of projects at one time.

  • Coordinate between the ILA Sales Team, electrical distributor, contractor and manufacturer to furnish a complete and competitive bid package.

  • Formulate plans for following up on bids to generate orders.

  • Responsible for arranging and filing supporting bid documents both electronically and hard copy where required.

 

Essential Skills

  • This individual should have a complete and through understanding of all of the ILA Lighting & Controls lines and pricing structures.

  • Understand how to read Electrical, Architectural Auto Cad Drawings to review electrical circuiting, lighting controls, and fixture schedules.

  • Must possesses experience in submittal creation and review.

  • Expert knowledge of  (Cahill Saw 7/8)

  • Ability to present and communicate in group settings.

  • Fully understand the bid, buy process, budgets and strict timelines to bid dates.

  • Should possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, which will help this individual coordinate among our varied industry channels.

  • Inductive reasoning; the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.

  • Must be proficient on word, excel, internet research, and outlook

     

Education and Qualifications

A proven track record / background in Electrical Systems and Lighting Control Systems is required.  A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Business, Engineering or Interior Design is preferred.

Specification LC Sales Person

ILA Lighting & Controls is currently seeking a credentialed (LC, Lighting Certified) Lighting Design Professional for an Outside Specifications Sales position in the Northern, Central & Ocean New Jersey Markets.  Responsible for development of client relationships working independently and assisting others as needed.  Works independently solving complex and difficult problems.  Must work well with all customers, manufacturers and other ILA Team Members to provide exceptional support when and wherever necessary.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop presentations to customers and present in a professional manner.
  • Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts
  • Responsible for developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers, manufacturers, and outside sales people and maintaining them over time
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job
  • Works with customers and factories on challenges and concerns to final resolution
  • Estimating sizes, distance, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity
  • Ensure quick and proper response to all reasonable customer requests
  • Maintain profitability by meeting or exceeding sales quota and containing and managing expenses
  • Identify and secure new markets and adoption of new technologies within your territory
  • Analyze and make timely critical decisions displaying good judgment

 

Essential Skills:

  • Education/Training: Degree or LC with at least 2 years of experience in the lighting industry
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop presentations for customers and present in a professional manner
  • Cognitive ability to learn and adapt
  • Basic understanding of AutoCad, Revit, AGI32 preferred
  • Excellent sales skills including cold calling, building relationships, selling value, and customer service
  • Demonstrated experience in B2B sales environment and achieving sales goals/growth
  • Exhibits enthusiasm and understands the significance of relationships
  • Must possess experience in project budgeting
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver license with a good driving record
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and utilize internet search engines
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Exhibits good judgment
